Affordable suites are available based on income and asset qualification. In Canada, housing is considered affordable if it costs less than 30% of a household’s before-tax income. Affordability applies to the rent portion.
The Alexander building is made of insulated concrete form (ICF) with efficiency close to Passive House standards. The exterior cladding is a Sto product - a synthetic stucco that is a type of cladding that provides wall exteriors with an insulated finished surface. It appears like wood but it is actually a type of stucco that is applied in multiple layers over exterior sheathing, to create an energy-efficient, fire-resistance, low-maintenance, beautiful, and versatile exterior cladding. We have chosen colours so that the building can blend in with the beautiful environment of Muskoka. In addition, there are large triple-pane windows in all suites allowing for natural light to come in but not the draft.
We are the husband and wife team behind The Alexander Muskoka Residence.
